出爐金馬影帝郭富城

郭富城 acts very well in 三岔口. Obviously better than 梁家輝 in 黑社會.

Aaron's character in 三 岔口 is well designed one. A sad police yet determine to chase a case. Aaron have all the necessary acts: cry, bitter-smile, angry, sad, violent. But his body acting isn't very impressive. One thing very good for him, his acting in this movie is very different than his older films, and his acting is very natural this time. Unlike Andy Lau, no better which movie he is in, you see some typical Andy's type of body movement or fiscal expression.

梁家輝's acting in 黑 社會 is just violent, large body movement. But he doesn't really have "inside-heart" acts. Therefore this character is pretty one-dimension.

Actually there is on character I think acts better than Aaron, who is Simon Yip in 黑社會. Simon Yip don't speaks much or don't even move around much in this movie. But somehow his eye contact, the way he speaks can create all the tension in the movie. He did has one violent acts in the end of the movie, which he acts well and more realistic than any other HK movies I watched before. I think this character is very difficult to act yet Simon has successful created this character. Unfortunately he is not even nominated for 金 馬影帝. Perhaps it can be blamed by translation. If the Taiwanese version of this movie doesn't use Simon's original voice, the tense effect that he created maybe less.

黑社會 (Election)

『和聯勝』是香港最具江湖地位的社團，兩年一 度的扛把子選舉，由阿樂與大D競爭。所以雙方想盡辦法，各自拉攏江湖中擁有投票權的大哥級人 物，選舉由阿樂勝出，大D不服，企圖搶奪「和聯勝」最高權力象徵的「龍頭棍」，以阻止阿樂登位。

而在雙方人馬混戰期間，龍頭棍竟然下落不明， 阿樂與大D旗下人馬在香港及大陸展開搜尋「龍頭棍」之跨境爭奪戰，而香港本島的江湖內戰亦一 觸即發…。

Introduction
One of the best HK movies in recent years. The way to tell the story is pretty different than others. Story plotting is solid and every character is well defined. There are many character in this movie, most of them give strong impression to audience, an amazing director work. No fancy special effect or super gun fight or mind-twist plot. Just good story telling. An intense movie. You feel like you just experience a life of underground society member. Sammy Rating (9/10).

任達華, 梁家輝, 張家輝, 王天林, 古天樂

Character
This is the best HK movie for character making in recent years. Since there are so many characters, most of them only have 5~10 of minutes show time except 任達華, 梁家輝. But the director successful created good character of most of them.

任達華 -> 阿樂
The best actor in the movie. A quiet and intelligent division leader. He is very logical when do thing. He try to solve problem in peaceful way mostly. But when it need to be killed, he is determined and doesn't hesitate.

梁家輝 -> 大D
2nd best actor in the movie. An aggressive, violent division leader. He mess with anyone when he is angry. He is also the initial problem for the whole story. But no matter how crazy he is, there is some realistic restriction to hold him back. Unlike other HK gangster movie, this bad guy can not just kill whoever he wants, so more realistic. However, 大D is a little naive as a division leader. This is the only hole of this "realistic" story, so I minus one point in my rating.

張家輝 -> gang member.
He has 3 scenes only, but very catchy. He is a "No fear" fighter.

王天林 -> 和聯勝 top spiritual leader
Gentle talking old man but very good on handling people. One of his role in this movie is to tell the history of 和聯勝

古天樂 -> Jimmy
A gang member who has College education. His is in charge of a group of girls in night club. He is very loyal to his boss (not 任達華 or 梁家輝) , but he is much smarter than his boss. At the end, the movie implies he wants to become the top leader of 和聯勝. Probably he will have more show time in next sequel.

Others:
張兆輝: an intelligent "thinker" gang member. Have some problem to speak smoothly.
林家棟: "get things done" type of gangster.
林雪: very loyal to his boss, his job is actually to provide laughter for audience

Special notes:

1. this movie introduces some real "underground society" poem and ceremony. But those weren't too important to the plot. It seems to be just marketing selling points.

2. 梁家輝 and 任 達華 has two opposite style. These type of opposite character had been done many times in other movies. This movie still do good, and give strong impression to me. For example, in separate events, they ask their people to do something, here are their styles:

梁家輝: throw chair, hit table, yell, scream, command people to do. His people are just so scare and have to obey.

任 達華: He speak softly to Jimmy. Jimmy doesn't obey initially and want to do his own way. Then the movie stay quiet for a few seconds. 任 達華 walk slowly to Jimmy. Still speak softly but in determine manner, point his finger to Jimmy's chest, said: "Follow my order!" The whole atmosphere is tense, Jimmy was stunned. He then has to obey because he feels the consequence if not.

Summary:
This is a different type of gangster movie. Each gang members in the "underground society" has something they want: money, pride, fame, loyalty, ambition. Similar to normal people. In this movie they don't flight easily. But when something happens to affect their own benefit, they will choose to use violent action (or killing) to solve their problem. I guess this is main different of gangsters and normal people. When I finish the movie, I am just glad I am a normal person.
